This weekend was one for the books, y’all. I got to go to the most fun event at Euna Mae’s and meet JAMIE AND AARON IVEY (I wasn’t fangirling at all…)! Jamie is the host of one of my favorite podcasts, The Happy Hour, author of one of my top 10 books of 2018, If You Only Knew, encourager of women, and wife to Aaron Ivey! Aaron is a pastor at Austin Stone Church, writer of the song Jesus is Better, and author of the book Steal Away Home – which I’m reading right now (my brother interviewed Aaron about his book here)!

The event was called “In the Kitchen with Aaron and Jamie Ivey”, and that is literally what it was – I got a front row seat to watch Aaron cook some vegan dishes that the Ivey family eats on the regular like vegan queso, kale salad, and sweet potato toast. We got to ask Jamie (and Aaron) questions and have conversations with them and we covered allll sorts of topics – why vegan queso? Favorite memory from the podcast? What do you talk about with your kids at the dinner table? What do your tattoos mean? AND we got to eat all of the food, and it was delicious.

Jamie and Aaron were so honest, thoughtful, and encouraging with their answers throughout the entire evening, and I loved getting to hear more about their stories and the story of their family. We laughed, we ate, we shopped, and we got an inside look at the incredible Ivey family! If you haven’t listened to The Happy Hour podcast yet, then I highly recommend you start immediately! Thank you so much, Amy, Jamie, and Aaron for hosting such a fabulous evening! I’m so glad that I was able to attend and hear from such inspiring people.
