Almost two full weeks into 2023, and I am still feeling the fullll effects of the new year energy. I love the excitement of a fresh start, and while I know that you can choose to start something new at any time, the new year really is the perfect opportunity. Historically speaking, I make a big list of goals every year - some of them get accomplished (the number of books read), while the rest get forgotten by about January 23rd. But I wanted this year to be different. I have done so …
My Top Ten Favorite Books of 2022
2022 was a year of incredible reads for me, and as I see everyone sharing their wrap-ups, I’m giddy to jump into 2023 with a huuuuge new TBR list! One of the things that I just truly love about reading is that it’s so subjective and all of us have a completely different experience and opinion about every book we read. I was talking with a friend this week about how sharing book recommendations is such a vulnerable and personal experience - what if they hate the book I adored and shared with …
Turning the Page on 2022
I published my first “Turning the Page…” blog post on January 1st, 2018. I was less than one year into blogging, rediscovering my love for reading, and totally winging it when it came to life itself. We traveled with friends and family - to Colorado, Utah, the Bahamas, Florida, Nashville, and countless other weekend trips. We watched movies and ate good food and …
What I Read in December
December was a month for me to fall back in love with reading after being in a pretty good slump for the month of November. I read some really wonderful books this month which was the perfect way to end the year! I’m sharing my end of year recap soon, so without further ado, this is what I read in December! DAISY DARKER BY ALICE FEENEY - 4 STARS What a way to kick off the month! We read Daisy Darker as our December book club pick, and it was probably the longest we’d ever discussed a …
What I Read in November
November was obviously a light reading month for me. Lots of time listening to podcasts and making the ultimate Christmas playlist, as well as Thanksgiving, the NWA Boutique Show, and a few other engagements had me reading less. I’m hopeful that I can at least double this number for December and end the year with 100 books read! THE DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY BY ERIK LARSON - 5 STARS How are more people not talking about this book?! It’s the true story of the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair …
