HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I rang in the new year last night with some of my oldest and dearest friends and new friends alike. We didn’t do anything fancy – snacks and game night and lots of laughs – and I wouldn’t have it any other way. My heart is full from this wonderful holiday season and the months leading up to it, and I have so much to be thankful for in this year and beyond.
2018… Where to begin? This year has been a complete whirlwind in all the best ways – new relationships, a new job, moving back home, lots of books, progress on my goals, and travel. I’ve made so many unforgettable memories with friends and family, learned a few very valuable lessons, and I’ve really grown as a person in 2018 in ways I didn’t ever expect. I couldn’t be more thankful for how the Lord has made himself present in the little details every single day, and I’m even more thankful that this is where it’s all led me.
I’ll be sharing a recap of my 2018 goals, my new 2019 goals and word for the year, and lots of other new things VERY soon, but for now, let’s talk 2018 in BOOKS.
49 books. 16,536 pages. I made it a goal in 2018 to read 52 books, and while I didn’t meet that goal (even though I came very close), I’ve decided, who cares?! I learned so many new things, discovered new stories, re-read some of my cherished favorites, and found some new favorites! Reading is one thing that I truly love to do and share with y’all, and numbers and goals will not ever change that for me! Below are all 49 books that I read this year in order – you’ll see that it’s pretty all over the board – and I love that! This year was so unexpected in so many ways, and I feel like some of these reads came to me just when I needed them! Do you see any of your favorites on this list? Let me know if you’ve read and loved (or not so loved) any of these, and what your favorites were for 2018!
