“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” -Galatians 5:22-23
Galatians 5:22-23 is one of those passages that, growing up in church, I heard all the time. I can still sing you the song from the Upwards Basketball memory verse cd 16 years later. But recently I realized that I’ve never actually studied this passage in-depth. It’s like John 3:16 – it comes naturally – but there is so much more to it than just reciting something on command.
This is why I’m so excited to join in on the Art and Soul Fruits of the Spirit Instagram Challenge over the next weeks as we take a closer look at the fruits of the Spirit throughout God’s Word. Each week will focus on one fruit of the Spirit and five specific verses about each word. Letter them, type them, read them out loud, write them on a notecard, share one of the other pretty photos that you see, whatever you want! I’ll be lettering along with my mom at Art and Soul (as much as I can), and also sharing her photos for inspiration!
Her hope in creating this challenge is not to fill Instagram with lots of pretty pictures (although that’s a plus!), but to spread love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control! There will also be giveaways and free downloads, and a chance to connect with other believers and spend time in God’s Word.
This week’s verses are all based around love, in the graphic below, and I would love for you all to join us whenever you can! Be sure to follow @ArtandSoulAR to keep up with the challenge (and see her beautiful lettering). I hope you’ll join in with us!
