2020 was the peak of my closet creativity – being home day in and day out made me crave getting dressed up, and the result was my series “What I Would Have Worn” where I styled a week’s worth of outfits for work and other occasions every week in my bedroom mirror. I would make outfit guides for game day and holidays, and it was truly so fun coming up with new ways to style what I already had.
Nowadays, the world is relatively “back to normal” if there is such a thing, and I’m feeling absolutely less than inspired with my current wardrobe. I did a big closet cleanout after Christmas that accounted for four stuffed-to-the-brim trash bags leaving our house to be donated, and somehow, I’m still looking at a stuffed full closet and feeling as if I have nothing to wear. And while I know that’s not truly the case, it’s just not as fun to get dressed for the day when everything leaves you feeling uninspired.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a fix for that problem just yet, but to combat my absolute lack of inspiration when getting dressed, I figured it would be fun to document a range of the outfits I am liking each month so I have something to look back on for reference. (I did make an attempt at this with my daily photo diary IG account JTSdaily, but alas, creating yet another account to keep up with and manage daily was not quite the best idea for my ADHD brain.) So this series is just a compilation of outfits that I have worn recently, on the off day that I actually remember to document them with a photo. (Con of going to the gym in the mornings before work that I did not anticipate – no opportunity for running-out-the-door mirror selfies – so I am missing a good chunk of cute outfits sadly, but nevertheless, she persisted.)
I am combining January and February into one post this time, but hope to maintain a monthly share of my fav wears from work outfits to athleisure to whatever else life throws at me in between. I’ll try to link everything that I can in one shoppable chunk, but I am the queen of keeping clothes from middle school so that won’t always be possible. And when in doubt, assume it’s from Old Navy!
